I had convinced myself I was going to lose this badly, after all Railton does own her own scull. But once we finally managed to organise a time we could both race and agree it with CUCBC, it turned out to be a good race! In the pouring rain I started on the upstream station and managed to hold Anna to the approximate 100m gap we started with until First Post Corner. She started to creep up on me through the corners and then I managed to crash on the exit of Ditton thanks to being a bit over enthusiastic with the steering. She overtook me then and down the Reach my inexperience and unfitness began to show. I'm pretty proud of the result all the same, and want to say thanks to Tim Daines for coaching me and David for bank steering me today.
