This was never going to be a race of finesse given the small number of practice outings and the 3x2K 'warm-up' half the crew did in Ely the morning of the race! Our aim, however, was to put down a strong and powerful result that sets the tone for the attack and commitment the Clare women want to bring to this term. We certainly achieved that, managing to overtake an eight that started 40s in front of us, as well as beating several other college eights. There are plenty of technical things we need to work on, but we've started as we mean to go on - no slacking, 100% focus, and striving to be as fast as we possibly can.
