Headed off with the rate on target, keeping a nice rhythm down the first post reach. Starting 4~5 lengths behind Christ's, we lost ground on them down the gut and the plough reach. They do seem to have a rather speedy start and initial sprint. By Grassy, our rate had dipped slightly, but coming round Ditton corner, we found our speed again and tore into Christ's lead. Down the Long Reach, we gained the 2~3 lengths we had lost on the first half of the course and ate into them coming just a length~length and a half behind Christ's. Chasing them really helped. Things are looking good for that first Bump!

A nice result and a good improvement on the Head to Head time. Managed to rate higher than any practice piece even with Frake subbing for Gao! Most importantly, we beat Christ's by about a couple of lengths. Bring on the Bumps.
