33rd overall in a time of 5 minutes 31 seconds; second-fastest W2, third fastest lower women's boat
Due to the freezing conditions on the day and the fact that we hadn't rowed together since before the snow&ice descended on Cambridge, it took us a while to settle into this race and row as smoothly as we know we can. But despite some wobbly moments, the race went well overall: we pushed hard at rate 34 down the Reach, this dropped to rate 29/30 after the Railway Bridge but a call from Alice for 5 bursts brought back enough power and energy to see us to the end of the sprint. We were pleased to be the second-fastest W2. Thanks to Rachel and Katrin for subbing in.

13th overall; second-fastest M3 crew in a time of 4 minutes 49 seconds
In light of ice downstream, the race was run over a shorter course: what was originally a full Bumps course became a 1.1km sprint. After a pretty terrific start, we flew up the Reach past all the crews marshalling to race, keeping good cover up until the Railway Bridge. After the bridge, things started to drop off a bit and our separation went downhill somewhat, but reminders for focus and a five-stroke build took us back up to a strong rate 34. A good result overall, since we came in second amongst all the M3 crews there; thanks again to all our subs for today.
